Hello and thanks for stopping by!

If you’re looking to learn more about me, my career up to this point and where I’m going, you’re definitely in the right place.

For someone to say they’ve always had a passion for art is quite a simple phrase, but I feel that I’ve finally embodied those words and stand behind their meaning. I have been a high school art teacher for over 30 years and to this day, I still truly enjoy every moment of it. I have also licensed my work for over 20 years, which has allowed my art to be featured on products such as: apparel, tote bags, puzzles, stained glass, needle point, towels, note cards, playing cards, mouse pads, wine labels, posters and letterhead. I have also exhibited in 16 different states with galleries in both Oahu and Maui, Hawaii.

Some of the companies I have designed for include:

*Natural Wonders

*The Nature Company

*Bay Shore

*Dolphin Shirt Company

*Monterey Bay Aquarium

*Shedd Aquarium

*Aquarium of the Americas

Since wildlife is my passion, a few of my most notable accomplishments in that area were designing the commemorative poster for the opening of the Sea Otter exhibit in New Orleans at Aquarium of the Americas, winning best of show in the annual art show of the American Cetacean Society and having the painting featured on the cover of Whale Watcher magazine as well as having the best-selling poster at Monterey Bay Aquarium for 5 years running.

I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to study under both Sir Bernardus Weber and Catherine Liu early on in my career. In addition to that, I had some incredibly talented and generous mentors including the late Otto and Vivika Heino, Leon Fields and John Solem. Those experiences have helped shape me both as an artist and as a person. In fact, I find as much reward and pleasure in mentoring others as I do in pursuing my own artistic endeavors.

Also in the spirit of giving back, I always make time in my schedule to create at least a few pieces a year to donate to various charitable causes for auction.  I have given to hospice programs, school groups and animal rescue groups and am always excited about learning of new opportunities and ways to give back!

I currently live in Thousand Oaks, CA with my wife, Becky, my son, Tanner as well as our pets, Romeo (a veiled chameleon) and Misty (a chinchilla).

I try to attend 3-4 shows per year and really enjoy these opportunities to interact with the public. I keep a current schedule on my “Show Schedule” page on this website.

For licensing, I am represented by Creative Connections, Inc.
